My grid is quickly becoming adventures of the big My grid is quickly becoming adventures of the big coated lady. 🤣
Day out at Beamish on Saturday which was the best day of the weekend. Mostly bright and not too cold. Spent our time round the 1900s pit village where we got hot cheese and onion pasties and sausage rolls from the sinkers bait cabin and went to school. Looked in the toy shop and played in the park at the 50s area, surprised by a passing Father Christmas in a horse drawn carriage. Reuben loved the bank and seeing the old money in the 1800s town (which the bank teller didn’t seem to be amused with for some grumpy reason). Listened a little to the visiting Prudhoe brass band and just enjoyed a little rambling mooch. Didn’t feel *as festive* as previous years but a cute day out all the same. 🎄
Christmas lights switch on in Richmond on Friday n Christmas lights switch on in Richmond on Friday night marked a Christmassy weekend. Even though the “big tree” was decorated a week ago, we decorated the house a bit more with garlands and paper chains and I’ve done a couple more little trees. Still not yet finished though!

Hope everyone’s enjoying bringing the festivities into the home. 🎄

After school yesterday we drove up to the MetroCen After school yesterday we drove up to the MetroCentre for one thing - Santa! 🎅 New this Christmas, Lego brought out an upscaled Santa mini fig, like the dude we got from Legoland in the summer. A Lego shop exclusive, he’s been on back order for ages on the website so we rang the closest Lego shop to see if they had any. Luckily they did and reserved us our Santa. There were none on the shelves by the time we got there so just as well! Fab shop. Nice place to see plenty Lego sets you can’t get elsewhere and there’s even loose Lego to have a little play with while you’re there. I noticed back home though that my Lego Insiders card hadn’t scanned so I didn’t get my points which is poop. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a club to save points to redeem for Lego goodies and that’s a no brainer if you’re a brick head. 😄

So here’s to the start of Christmas even though it’s still only November. Oh yeah and the Christmas tree’s up! 🎄

Lumiere 2025 was magical ✨💡 Durham is a stunn Lumiere 2025 was magical ✨💡 Durham is a stunning city and to see it lit with glowing art installations is a spectacular sight. It was cold and we walked for hours, but we were wrapped up warm and enjoyed every bit of the trail. My favourites were the silver wire fish and the flowers at the cathedral but the running man beside the river, which reminded me of Keith Haring’s art, was a fun one.

Question is, was this the last Lumiere in Durham? 🤔

Went up Sutton Bank to see the White Horse of Kilb Went up Sutton Bank to see the White Horse of Kilburn. Don’t know why I never thought of coming up here with Reuben before. It’s not like I spent my whole childhood being overlooked by this landmark. 😄 Think we picked the best day of the half term to go up too. Sunny, autumnal and a little bit brisk. Such amazing views too, you can see for miles around from up on the bank top, stunning Yorkshire scenery no less. 🍂
