Reuben’s First Birthday: Calamity & Cake

February 27, 2018

*PR GIFTED This week Reuben turns one!  And with my little man being my first child, it’s meant hosting my first ever birthday party.  I’ve had umpteen house warmings and socials and planned my own wedding, but none of this prepared me for the emotional […]

Everyday Glamour: Fuller Bust ‘Flirtelle’ Alice

January 21, 2018

* PR GIFTED Life as a mum is not glamorous – something I was never deluded to think otherwise even before I became a mum myself.  It’s a hard life; days spent elbow deep at the dirty end of a baby and being devoured by […]

Baby Bath Time with Child’s Farm Skincare

January 19, 2018

Bath time is a highly anticipated activity in this house.  Not least by myself (what frazzled mum doesn’t love a good soak in the tub?), but of course, the littlest man himself.  It may be a daily ritual but with a menagerie of flashing frogs and half […]

The Easytots ‘EasyMat’ | Stress-free Dinner Time & Easier Weaning

January 5, 2018

When your baby starts eating proper food you realise how messy dinner times can be. Whatever the food, it ends up everywhere: down the high chair, beneath the high chair, applied to the face more successfully than eaten, and, somehow, finds its way into the […]

Reuben’s Royal Mail: Post From Prince George!

January 1, 2018

Back in November Reuben posted a very special Christmas card to a royal household.  The recipient: our possible future king, Prince George! I was intent on making Reuben’s first Christmas a special occasion; lots of festive activities to enjoy together as our new family, and new […]

8 Reasons A Christmas Pregnancy is the Best

December 18, 2017

This time last year I was pregnant.  Twenty-nine weeks by Christmas Day, to be precise, so I’d hit the third trimester and was well and truly blooming.  Now I’m as far away from being pregnant for as long as I was pregnant for, I’ve donned […]

Movies with Mum and Dad | Empire Cinema Parent & Baby Screening Reviewed

December 12, 2017

Date night was never a thing for us before we had Reuben; being spontaneous we’ve always liked to do things in the moment.  If we felt like going for a day out somewhere, we did.  If we fancied seeing a movie at the cinema, we did.  But […]

12 Festive Ways To Celebrate Baby’s First Christmas

December 7, 2017

I’ve been a big fan of Christmas for as long as I can remember; ever since I was little I’ve started listening to Christmas music in September and I used to play ‘Christmas tv’ with my sister (we so would have owned Youtube had it been around […]

Freya Lingerie | ‘Soiree Lace’ Fuller Bust Bra Set

November 27, 2017

Great fitting bras have been thin on the ground for me lately.  You’d think as a lingerie blogger I’d be so inundated with fabulous lingerie that my underwear draw would be bursting at the seams – it is, but not with anything I can wear.  I’m […]

Baby’s First Christmas | A Personalised Nativity Scene

November 19, 2017

I love Christmas!  I’m one of those apparently annoying people who starts playing Christmas music in September and I get planning the festivities before the sun’s even dried up the leaves on the trees.  This year I’m beyond excited because it’s Reuben’s first Christmas.  He’s going […]

Babywearing and Me | Izmi Baby Carrier Reviewed

November 15, 2017

Reuben enjoys being carried around but I’ve never carried him in a sling as part of my everyday routine.  I’m not what you’d call a babywearer.  Unlike some of my mum friends who just ‘got’ it and naturally took to babywearing or went to the sling libraries, tried a million […]

The day Reuben met Father Christmas. šŸ§‘ā€šŸŽ„ The day Reuben met Father Christmas. šŸ§‘ā€šŸŽ„
Took us all the way up to Belsay Hall in Northumberland to find the big old man and a fabulous vintage treat it was. Parlour games, wooden toys and lots of extravagant festive decoration.

Day out at Beamish on Saturday which was the best day of the weekend. Mostly bright and not too cold. Spent our time round the 1900s pit village where we got hot cheese and onion pasties and sausage rolls from the sinkers bait cabin and went to school. Looked in the toy shop and played in the park at the 50s area, surprised by a passing Father Christmas in a horse drawn carriage. Reuben loved the bank and seeing the old money in the 1800s town (which the bank teller didn’t seem to be amused with for some grumpy reason). Listened a little to the visiting Prudhoe brass band and just enjoyed a little rambling mooch. Didn’t feel *as festive* as previous years but a cute day out all the same. šŸŽ„
Christmas lights switch on in Richmond on Friday n Christmas lights switch on in Richmond on Friday night marked a Christmassy weekend. Even though the ā€œbig treeā€ was decorated a week ago, we decorated the house a bit more with garlands and paper chains and I’ve done a couple more little trees. Still not yet finished though!

Hope everyone’s enjoying bringing the festivities into the home. šŸŽ„

After school yesterday we drove up to the MetroCen After school yesterday we drove up to the MetroCentre for one thing - Santa! šŸŽ… New this Christmas, Lego brought out an upscaled Santa mini fig, like the dude we got from Legoland in the summer. A Lego shop exclusive, he’s been on back order for ages on the website so we rang the closest Lego shop to see if they had any. Luckily they did and reserved us our Santa. There were none on the shelves by the time we got there so just as well! Fab shop. Nice place to see plenty Lego sets you can’t get elsewhere and there’s even loose Lego to have a little play with while you’re there. I noticed back home though that my Lego Insiders card hadn’t scanned so I didn’t get my points which is poop. If you don’t know what that is, it’s a club to save points to redeem for Lego goodies and that’s a no brainer if you’re a brick head. šŸ˜„

So here’s to the start of Christmas even though it’s still only November. Oh yeah and the Christmas tree’s up! šŸŽ„

Lumiere 2025 was magical āœØšŸ’” Durham is a stunn Lumiere 2025 was magical āœØšŸ’” Durham is a stunning city and to see it lit with glowing art installations is a spectacular sight. It was cold and we walked for hours, but we were wrapped up warm and enjoyed every bit of the trail. My favourites were the silver wire fish and the flowers at the cathedral but the running man beside the river, which reminded me of Keith Haring’s art, was a fun one.

Question is, was this the last Lumiere in Durham? šŸ¤”
