Review | Parfait Charlotte Extended Sizes
When Charlotte was released in the larger sizes I was offered to try a set out, which I was thoroughly keen to do since this time I’d be able to go for my ‘usual’ size. I received both a 28H and 30GG in the peach and black colourway, but unfortunately the fit hasn’t been great for me.
The 28H and 30GG bands were both a very comfortable tension; firm without being too tight and secure with a deep 4 hook and eye fastener, which provides a fantastic level of support. The fully adjustable straps ensure a reliable fit but I must be honest and admit I find them just too wide; extremely oversized to the extent the bra looks more industrial, less sexy, and makes me feel strapped me. I would love to see Charlotte made with straps 2-3mm less wide.
The balcony design is flattering with the central gore finishing just high enough to sustain a supportive hold. The cups, which are lightly padded, are perfect for keeping warm through the colder seasons (those of you with poor circulation or Raynaud’s will know what I mean!). A sling of satin fabric runs alongside the outer cups that helps keep a rounded shape and your boobs supported.
Despite Charlotte being a really comfy bra in respect of the band and the design of the cups, sadly the fit in neither the 28H or 30GG didn’t agree with my shape. I found in both, the cups cut too high beneath the armpit which made the upper cup section and lower part of the front strap dig in. The 30GG was slightly worse than the 28H in this respect. I’m fairly narrow bodied and don’t fair well with wide set designs, so I feel Charlotte may suit you if you’re broader and less petite, or have boobs which are more widely set apart/rooted.
I was surprised by how disappointingly I got on with Charlotte as I was so excited to hear about the new sizes, but this simply shows that cup size is not the be-all-end-all – your bust shape is important to bear in mind too. I found that Charlotte does not suit my shape but be sure I’ll investigate to see how I get on with the rest of the D-K range!
Good For Me, Good For You
October 11, 2013 at 11:22 pmI looove the look of this bra, and am actually seriously excited by the prospect of the super wide straps and high sides. I’m hoping to purchase this to try it out for myself, but am enjoying reading reviews for the moment. It looks like it suits your shape quite well in the picture, is it the digging in that puts you off the most?

October 13, 2013 at 10:38 pmHi! Ah well then that shows what doesn’t suit one person suits another! It is a lovely bra aside from feeling just too close to my armpit for comfort. The straps aren’t that bad, they feel comfy, it’s just my preference on aesthetics. Do give a go! 🙂

October 14, 2013 at 1:11 pmI have tried Charlotte and I found the sizing smaller than usual. I usually go for J or JJ cup but unfortunately the JJ cup in Charlotte was a little bit too small. You can read my short review from my blog: http://kupista-asiaa.blogspot.fi/2013/09/charlotte-parfait-by-affinitas.html

Panty Buns
February 1, 2015 at 9:02 pmHow unfortunate that the top of the cup section and lower strap of the bras dug in beneath your armpits. The bra and pant both have a pretty look. As you know I review full brief panties. I like the look of this set – in fact I just recently bought and am awaiting receipt of 3 pairs of Parfait by Affinitas Charlotte Brief Panties in Wild Pink. I had been wondering whether I’d regret ordering the matching Charlotte bra at the same time. I hope you’ve had more luck fitting you’re unique curves with the rest of the D-K range.

February 2, 2015 at 8:47 pmOh I love the pink colourway! Hopefully you’ll have more luck than I with the bra. Not everything suits everyone and it was probably a one off experience of mine. It can’t be a popular collection for nothing!
