My Personalised Emma Bridgewater Mug

March 7, 2014

A few weeks ago I was excited to find out I’d won a competition, and the prize was an Emma Bridgewater mug!  Not only would I be able to choose the design but I could have my mug personalised too.  As someone who’s aware of the brand but never bought into it, I enjoyed perusing the range of beautiful handpainted earthenware.

I do appreciate good design and quality, having used and continually purchasing Denby for over 10 years now.  It’s always daunting trying out a new brand so this win proved a perfect chance for me to sample Emma Bridgewater’s popular mugs.

Even though there’s so many lovely designs I pretty much knew instantly the Rose & Bee design (literally) had my name on it.  The delicate water colours of pink and blue, the shabby chic roses and – the clincher – that adorable bunting running around the inner rim.  Cute or what?!

I could have just gone with Becky but personalising my special mug with my passion (my blog!) just felt right.  Discovering you can add wording to the underside of the mug I asked for ‘tea time’ to be painted.  After all, I will most likely be drinking a thoroughly British good, strong cup of tea!

I’ll be sure to let you know how I get on with my new favourite mug.  I have to admit I’m afraid of actually using it as all the best mugs in this house seem to attract chips from Mr Tap.  Hopefully this one will not – I’m going to guard it with my life!

Do you like Emma Bridgewater earthenware?  Have a favourite design?  What’s your experience with the brand?  Or maybe there’s another brand you love?

This is so sweet. I didn’t know they could be personalised.

That personalised Emma Bridgewater mug (I almost slipped and called it a coffee mug) is beautiful! I adore the hand painted bunting around the rim, the chic roses and, of course, the beautifully lettered name of your blog personalising it. Now that I’m thinking about it maybe I should try to locate some good crumpets and switch from coffee to a nice pot of tea at some point(s) in the day. I don’t know if I can find good English crumpets on this side of the pond but I think they may call them scones here? That Emma Bridgewater mug is a real treasure!
