LADIES THAT LOUNGE | Dreamy Nightwear For A Valentine’s Night In
[DISCLOSURE: THIS POST CONTAINS GIFTED PRODUCTS]
Valentine’s Day is almost upon us and women everywhere have their fingers crossed the other half doesn’t gift a vacuum cleaner. To be fair, I wouldn’t say no to a few household goods, and a gift’s a gift! But if we’re talking treats, I’d be doing well getting some super comfy jammies. Seriously – who doesn’t love a self indulgent duvet day?!
I love pyjamas. Coming home, getting showered and wrapping myself up all snuggly for a chill out on the sofa before bed. Lately I’ve been really upping my pyjama game because I’ve got so addicted to pretty sets. Long gone are the days of mismatched old t-shirts for bed, nowadays it’s all bunnies and girly co-ordinates.
When Very asked me what my Valentine’s treat would look like, gorgeous nightwear was my obvious thought. So I put together my ideal night in look – a cute PJ set and some seriously luxe slippers.
The V by Very brand Brunch pyjama set is a modern two piece consisting of a long sleeve top and full length bottoms. In a peach and black colourway, this cosy cotton combo comes in a wide range of sizes from an 8-10 to 20-22 and features open cuffs for a relaxed style.
The peach coloured top has a classic crew neckline and a printed “Brunch Club” slogan against a gold foil star on the chest. It has a regular cut that’s slightly loose so it feels comfortable and unrestrictive. Made in a soft cotton yarn, the top has a lightweight but quality feel.
The pyjama bottoms have a black and peach polka dot pattern lending them a really chic look. With a gentle stretch, the cotton pants boast a comfort fit elastic waistband and a wide leg.
As I’m more of a 14-16 I opted for the larger 16-18 size, thinking a more generous fit would be much more comfortable than going a size smaller. The bottoms are on the too big side for me, falling very low around my hips and threatening to edge even lower. So I’m hoping my tumble dryer does what it does best and shrinks them a bit so I can wear them a bit more confidently! However, the top is a spot on fit, just loose enough for rolling around in bed.
The Whistle slippers are another V by Very exclusive that really caught my eye. In a pretty dusty pink shade, these super cosy slippers are made from genuine sheepskin suede and faux fleece, and styled in a classic mule shape, feeling totally gorgeous on the foot.
The soft suede upper, combined with a rigid foam sole, lends the mule a sturdy shape that helps support the foot. A dense faux-fleece pile lines the inner and footbed of the slippers offering a supremely snug fit, while faux fur trims the upper, perfecting the luxury look.
These beautiful slippers are a real treat since they’re crafted so well and feel tailor made to the foot. Wearing the medium, my size 6 feet fit into the snuggly slippers perfectly. The thick fleece feels ultra snug and warm, making them ideal to wear on a cold morning.
As someone who’s often still in my pyjamas come late morning, lovely loungewear and a glam pair of slippers such as these helps me feel a little less sheepish when the postman knocks. In fact, I might just stay in them all day!
How will you be spending Valentine’s Day?
