Curvy Kate ‘Madagascar’ | Oceanic Animal Print

July 17, 2015

A lingerie brand’s seasonal offerings can sometimes become stale with the same collections restyled.  While this is great for continuity lines where you get to know which pieces work for you, it can get boring being limited to too similar designs.

Even though Curvy Kate have several staples as per the norm for any lingerie label, I’ve noticed how they’re really creative with fresh looks each season too.

Madagascar was introduced last season, but returns for a revival in a totally vibrant new way.  Madagascar Pixie – an oceanic emerald green – is a gorgeous breezy shade for a cool Summer.

*Curvy Kate sent me: Madagascar Pixie Balcony Bra, 30H, RRP £30 & Shorty, size 14, RRP £16*

Madagascar’s subtle animal print zebra stripe pattern is accented by a pretty scalloping and embroidery to the upper cups.  The balcony bra is unpadded, features fully adjustable straps and a deep three hook and eye band, so it’s an easy style for everyday wear.

The shorty brief is a cute and comfortable co-ordinating piece.  It sits low on the tummy and generously on the hip, so you get no digging.

I was blown away by last season’s Bardot collection so I was really drawn to another unpadded design.  Madagascar instantly appealed.  It’s not only a beauty to look at but also a fantastic fit.

There was a time I’d find Curvy Kates too broad on my shoulders but this fit issue has recently improved.  I love how well the fabric and structure really provides such a decent amount of support while looking and feeling fantastic.  The scallop edging makes this design so much better than a simple embroidered edge or elastication, because it doesn’t grip to you.  It just feels really effortless to wear.

Like with previous Curvy Kates I’ve fitted into, this bra is a 30H (I would typically wear a 30GG in other brands).  You should only need to size up in the cup for the right fit.

I also need to add that I’m now pregnant (yay!) and even though my boobs are changing and feeling really quite sensitive and sore, I’ve been enjoying wearing this bra the most, lately.  This is quite naughty for a pregnant lady, as your boobs are changing a lot and can be damaged by wearing poorly fitting bras, and also bras with underwiring.  But while I’m just venturing into the world of maternity, I’ve allowed myself to enjoy this lovely while my boobs are happy in it!  It’s cute, comfy and supportive and all big boobs can appreciate that!
