‘Good things come to those who wait’ said someone once, and they were right.  Anticipate the release of an exciting new collection and it’ll feel a lifetime of agony, but when it’s launched the reward is sweet.  Few full bust lingerie lines offer enough to be genuinely thrilling and Playful Promises is one of those special gems.

Playful Promises‘ fuller bust DD-G range keeps managing to arouse attention amongst lingeristas.  With exotic details and sumptuous fabric oozing glamour and sex appeal, it’s a one of a kind brand that doesn’t shy away from glorifying big boobs with foxy lingerie.

Enter Mariela: the exuberant and scintillating new style taking sexy fashion lingerie to another level.

Playful Promises sent me: Mariela bra, 32G and high waist brief, size large/14.

Now I’m pregnant my lingerie is admittedly mostly maternity bras and comfy knickers (so not the sexy picture) which makes my return to this set so refreshingly exciting.  It’s not a bra I can really wear now and the briefs stand no chance, but I can pop it on for a moment and this makes it all the more reason for me to admire and long for – a sexy set I’ll be reaching again for in the near future.

Mariela is a high class tease.  Boasting intricate eyelash lace and luscious satin in a balcony style, Mariela’s provocative character plays peek-a-boo with exposing cage effect strapping cutting deep across the bust line.

With careful placement you can be as teasing as you dare.  Boldly peek your nipples through the baring straps or adjust slightly to hide and suggest; you could even pop on a pair of sparkly nipple pasties that can conceal and dazzle at the same time!

Mariela’s delicate lace in zesty green trims the jet black satin bra with a mouth watering bitter lemon-lime bite, injecting a fresh new attitude into the bondage theme.  The balcony bra features wide flat straps which adds to the smooth comfort.   It’s gorgeously exotic and a delight to the senses.

The 32G isn’t my best fit especially now I’m pregnant so the cups aren’t adequate for my bust.  Sadly because of this I can’t justly comment on the fit, but with a firm band and solid design I can tell that it will be a fantastic bra once a correct size is established.  If you’re a fuller busted lady like I am then I’d still urge you to go for it – beautifully made lingerie in edgier styles don’t come by very often.

The high waist brief was my preferred knicker style to pair with the bra but if it’s not your cup of tea there is a slimmer brief option.  I just love this version because I feel the deep knicker look really plays up the glamorous aesthetic; it adds a retro touch to an otherwise modern design.

The generously sized front panel is accented by two slender strapping details, again bearing a little flesh without being overtly conspicuous.  Eyelash lace – this time looking more lemon than lime because it isn’t overlaid black fabric like the bra – gives the brief a striking pop of colour.  Turn around and you’ll flash a cheeky eyeful through the sheer mesh reverse.

The large size was spot on as a UK 14.  As the design features heavily along the cutaway theme it means the fit is light and comfortable, and there’s certainly no digging into my waist or hips.
