HUE Denim Leggings: The Only Mum Jeans You Need
AD / THIS POST CONTAINS GIFTED PRODUCT FROM UK TIGHTS. WORDS & OPINION EXPRESSED IS MY OWN.
I’d be lying if I said my style has changed since becoming a mum. The fact is, comfort has always been my thing. I’ve never much worn heels, and leggings have been my go-to since I don’t remember when, so there was no transition from pre-mum me to now. I’ve just always liked a laid back look.
I did, however, find myself in a bit of a boring rut wearing black leggings all the time. And the downside to leggings (aside from their often dubious aesthetic) is they’re not really hardwearing and when you’re spending half your time on your knees playing with the toddler, they wear pretty quickly.
Then I rediscovered jeggings – the amazing jean legging combo that bridges the gap between functional and resilient denim jeans and the stretch comfort of leggings.
The HUE Essential Denim Leggings at UK Tights have been a total game changer for me. They’ve given me a new level of comfort that feels so ridiculously divine and opened up ways to wear my wardrobe. Where before, I’d always dress to hide my bum (sad but true) now I feel like I have more options what to wear and don’t feel self conscious about wearing something figure hugging.
Forget your “mom jeans” or the leggings you’ve been wearing since pregnancy – I’m all over my HUE jeggings!
THE LOOK
These HUE denim leggings are made from the softest, cotton-rich stretch fabric that pull on with ease. With a high waist and full length leg, they’re well fitting like a comfy pair of leggings while boasting the authentic denim look with functional back pockets, double stitching, rivets and a faux metal button. They come in a few colour options: black, a dark indigo and classic medium wash shade of blue, the latter which I went for aiming for a true denim jean style.
THE FIT
With a full length leg that’s generously long, I’d say these leggings are ideal for taller women or if you like a relaxed look. I’m 5’8″ tall and they’re a few inches longer, but not unnecessarily so and I wouldn’t want them much shorter. I don’t mind the slightly slouchy fit as it means the leggings aren’t overly tight and it adds to the jean look.
The high rise of the leggings means I get really good tummy coverage. They don’t nip in tightly around the belly so there’s no uncomfortable bulges and the feel around the bum is snug but gently supportive.
After trying a few pairs, I found the sizing a little off. I typically wear a 14 in bottoms, so I opted for the XLarge which translated to a UK 14, but this pair was really too big and resembled loose cut jeans on me. I can wear them but they don’t fit or look that great. So I next tried the Large which said it was a UK 12, and these fit perfectly. In fact, as I mentioned above, they’re not even tight tight, so I’m guessing (insanely as it sounds me to) a Medium, or 10, would give me the closest fit. Given that I’m happy wearing the Large/UK 12 and I’m essentially a UK 14, I’d recommend going for a size smaller than you’d usually do.
I’ve worn my HUE leggings dozens of times now and they wash beautifully. I put them in a low heat eco cottons cycle then either line dry or pop them in the dryer, and they come out in as new shape and condition. They really are a fab pair of jeggings!
So if you see me out and about I’m most likely wearing my HUE leggings. They’re so silly comfy and easy to throw on with a loose t shirt or fitted top, they’ve become my new go-to outfit that looks great whether I’m doing the big Tesco shop or crawling on my knees down the park.
Do you have a favourite pair of jeans or leggings? What’s your go-to outfit for the daily grind? I’d love to know!

The excellent fit, pleasing colour and over-all look of the HUE denim leggings would coordinate well with a wide variety of different colours and style of tops.
I love how they look styled with both of the tops in your photos above.
