Coming into February is good times all round.  Not only have we survived the testing conditions of January but Spring is within hopping distance, and for me, I get to celebrate my birthday!

This week is proving to be a fun lead up to my big day on Sunday.  I was excited to hear from Flamingo Gifts who I’d been following on Twitter, and they wanted to send me some goodies.  It felt like an early birthday treat!

Looking through the Flamingo Gifts website I was really surprised not least by the amount of products for sale but more the fact there was so much to my taste.  I love things a little bit quirky (read: childish), pretty, and a touch of retro throwback, and there was a lot fitting the bill.

I received a surprise delivery that I couldn’t wait to open.  Inside I found a pink Gummy Bear nightlight, a make up bag with a cute vintage style kitten print, a cheeky bird compact mirror, a pair of cute Playful Promises ‘lucky pants’ knickers and a gorgeous floral scarf.  I just love the lot and it describes me in a handful.

I adore wearing oversized light scarves, I always like to throw one on to complete my outfit.  They’re perfect to keep the chill away and can personalise your look instantly.  The combination of the dark grey base colour of this scarf makes the vintage floral print really pop – such a fab look while we’re in between seasons.

Make up bags are one of those things that you never seem to have too many of.  I kinda have a systematic way of storing my make up and beauty pieces, and this sweet little make up bag is the perfect size for essentials.  I’ll pop tweezers in with a mirror and my basic products such as foundation, every day mascara and concealers.  As it has a wipe clean finish it’ll be easy to look after if I have it floating around the bedroom.

The cute little compact mirror with the bird design is really pretty cool.  I like animal themes and the style of this design with the bird saying ‘hello pretty’ is a contemporary tongue in cheek take on the realistic appearance.

As a true lingerista I couldn’t miss the range of Playful Promises briefs.  I can’t say I’ve ever had a lucky pair of pants but these ones were too cute to pass up.  They’re a silky black satin trimmed with a simple bow to the front, and on the reverse is a pink embroidered ‘Lucky Pants’ text and pink die.  I got them in the large size which to be fair aren’t large at all (I’m convinced my bum isn’t as big as it obviously must be) so if you’re anything over a size 14 they may be teeny tiny on you.  But, Playful Promises are one of my true favourite brands and these knickers are completely awesome.

Oh, Mr Gummy Bear, he’s just brilliant, isn’t he?!  I remember seeing actual sweetie Gummy Bears about this size and I’ve been pretty tempted, but I can imagine getting sick (physically) pretty soon, plus he wouldn’t last that long.  This Gummy Bear though, well, he’ll always be around!  As long as my Mister Nibbles-a-Lot rabbit doesn’t sink his incisors into him, just like he did when he found a Miniature Hero chocolate on my sofa this past week…

So, that was my exciting parcel delivery this week from Flamingo Gifts.  Such a fun and thoughtful birthday surprise I’ll still be enjoying on my birthday this Sunday.  Happy birthday me!
