Growing up I shared a bedroom with my older sister.  We fought ferociously, each vying for  claim on wardrobe space and square footage.  We had wood chip wallpaper which I’d pick off by my side of the bed and a hard wearing brown carpet that would be littered with a degree of pens, paper and Sylvannian Families.  My childhood bedroom more a war zone, I never really got around to having a proper girly room.  No wonder these days, I’m drawn to pretty boudoir knick-knacks and keen to feminise the bedroom I share with my other half of a bloke.

Once over I would have cringed at the sight of floral bed linen.  Now, Cath Kidston is my print designer of choice, her cabbage roses being the quintessential look of a country inspired theme.  Faded pastels and whitewashed paint become the soothing backdrop, while vintage florals and crystal pendants accent lamp shades and cushions.  My boudoir of choice is relaxed and beautiful, unpretentious yet graceful.

The shabby chic inspired Live Laugh Love approached me recently to taste a sample of their homewares and gifts.  I spent hours perusing the website, literally engrossed in the departments of hanging hearts, candle holders, photo frames and bathroom accessories.  Deciding on my favourite pieces was going to be testing!

Instead of opting for one large piece, I wanted to select a mixture of goodies, and it was pretty hard choosing only because the products are so reasonably priced!  In the end I went for these which cost me a little over £30:

Decorative Glass Bottle with vintage kittens

Giant Tealight Holder with etched diamond design

Ceramic Trinket Dish with little bird

Ceramic Heart Dish

Home Sweet Home Hanging Key

Ceramic Trinket Pot with bird lid

Each item arrived well protected in bubble wrap, with the bird decorated gifts in boxes making them perfectly packaged for gifting.  They’re all quality pieces, my favourite is definitely the glass bottle because I absolutely love the vintagey label.  It’s so cute and looks pretty on my bedside table.

With Christmas coming up it’ll be worth checking out the pretty gifts on offer at Live Laugh Love.  If my sister’s extra nice to me in the run to Christmas I may treat her to some gorgeous pieces to prettify her bedroom!
