Heat Holders: Disney ‘Minnie Mouse’ Slipper Socks

November 2, 2016

The nights now drawing in, you can tell colder days are coming.  Bonfire Night is literally around the corner and then it’s all counting down to the big C.  Yep, Christmas shall be here sooner than you know and that means it’s time to start digging out and donning the cosy knits.

I, for one, do not like the cold, and nothing appeals less to me than freezing feet.  I don’t think my OH much cares for my icicles either.  And whether I’m trying to snuggle up in bed, chill out on the sofa, or head out into the great outdoors with my winter ready boots, big socks are where it’s at.

Heat Holders are the best socks, ever.  (Yes I am endorsing them, no they’re not paying me to.)  I’ve brought them to the blog before only because I freaking love them so much and they’re as much a part of life as my own cold limbs are.  They’re the thickest, and by far, the warmest socks I’ve ever tried.

What they’re not is sexy; they are, after all, socks.  But this time around my feet can look cute, because Heat Holders have collaborated with Disney to create some super sweet designs, including these adorable Minnie Mouse slipper socks!

While I’m not the hugest Disney fan, I do think these are something awesome and I don’t think thermal socks get any better than this.

They don’t seem to say so on the packet, but the Minnie Mouse Heat Holders are made to the brand’s usual 2.3 tog rating, meaning they’re super insulating.  Fitting standard ladies 4-8 UK shoe sizes, the acrylic mix socks feature a baby soft brushed inner, and thanks to the gripped sole, make the cutest slipper option.

The Minnie Mouse sock is an eye-catching design with its black and dusky pink self stripe pattern.  Its Disney theme continuing right to the pad of the sock with no-slip Minnie Mouse silhouettes, a Minnie Mouse emblem on each sock finishes off the premium branding.

Even though this version of Heat Holders is technically a slipper sock, I still like to wear them as an extra insulating layer over my normal socks to wear inside my bootie slippers or outdoor boots. They’re just so good at keeping my feet warm, even if it’s snowing I’m super toastie.

And Heat Holders live forever.  I still have pairs that I bought years ago; they just keep going.  They wash well and dry super quick, and over the course of time the inner fleece thickens up but they continue to perform as they ever did.  Dare I say it, I’ve tried cheaper versions but they’ve never been comparable.

If there’s a Disney fan amongst you, these are such a fun buy to brighten the impending dark days ahead.  And yes, with Christmas on our doorstep, they’d make a fab stocking filler too.
