Review | Lepel Iris: Pretty in Pink
Pink is the perfect pretty girl colour, especially in soft, dusky shades of candy and petals. A colour even trend aware men folk aren’t afraid of wearing, pink suits all skin tones, fair and dark, and is far easier to wear inconspicuously beneath clothing.
The Iris collection by Lepel is a hugely popular line, which offers a range of colourways including the soft shade of pale pink. Heavily designed in lace and embroidery, Iris is available in both the Plunge and High Apex Full Cup style, padded and unpadded respectively, making it an easy to wear option for small and larger busts alike.
I received the full cup Iris bra initially in a 32G and short brief in a 12.
As Lepel and Charnos are sister brands, I requested the usual size of 32G. In Charnos, this is a perfect fit (my Charnos Cherub review for example), however it transpired that Lepel – exclusively Iris, I’m not sure – is a much larger fit, and it’s worth noting you will likely need to size down from your usual size.
Lepel Iris 32G |
The 32G was large both in the band and cup, grotesquely so. It was far too loose and obviously so in the cups. Lepel kindly sent me some more size options to compare, including the 30G and 30FF. Whilst the 30G was a marked difference, I was surprised to find the even smaller 30FF was the most comfortable fit, offering a firm band and cups which held me just right. The difference was visual too – the cups don’t swamp me, there’s no gaping fabric and it just looks so much better.

A design feature I really do like is the addition of narrow elastication which runs along the tops of the cups. So very often with a lace trimmed bra the edge won’t lay flat and can flute away from your skin making it look like it doesn’t fit. Well the placement of elastic on Iris aids a smooth line with all of the cup fabric staying close to the skin as it should.
The short brief is extremely comfortable and flattering. The deep elasticated waistband ensures a reassuring grip, and since the fabric is a stretch lace it hugs your contours effortlessly. The exclusion of elastic at the legs also adds to the easy wear without the dig of seams and trims.
Panty Buns
March 4, 2014 at 3:05 pmI love pink, lace and embroidery, so it should come as no surprise that I love the way the Lapel Iris 30FF bra and panty short look as showcased by you. The little satin bow and scalloped lacy trim is lovely. The Lapel Iris lingerie set is gorgeous!
