Leggings play an integral part in my wardrobe – they’re a versatile style of legwear that, in my opinion, have unfairly earned a low grade reputation.  Leggings are great!  Like tights, but thicker and occasionally quite clever.

The Push Up Leggings from Italian brand Oroblu‘s Shaper range demonstrates one of those rare encounters, when the conventional collides with science.

This is another of my products gifted from UK Tights that I chose myself.  I’m used to wearing a basic cotton legging, so I was really intrigued to try a more advanced pair of my wardrobe staple.

Oroblu’s Push Up Leggings are designed to provide an uplifted bottom.  Made from a dense polyamide and elastane fabric, they’re super thick and conforming like a tights/trouser hybrid.  Unlike a regular pair of leggings, seams are minimal and the opaque silhouette, smooth.

For a size L/XL I find these leggings fit extremely well on my size 14 frame; they hug close without any digging or looseness around the waist or bottom.  Despite my above average 5’8″ height they’re very long in the leg, so if you’re shorter than I am, the long length could be excessive.

The waistband is deep with a flat seam-free line on the tummy, which gives a lovely smoothing shape.  At first glance of the back of these leggings, I was dubious about how the bottom ruching would fit, but it actually adds to the overall perfect shaping.  Against my initial concern, they don’t ride up or go where they shouldn’t; the fit is undetectable and pretty comfy too.

While these leggings do fit well, I’m not convinced I could wear them everyday.  The closeness of the heavy fabric is claustrophobic territory, and, dare I admit, feels a little too sweaty.  They’re not as easy to wear as tights or my regular leggings, but for the occasions when I want a smarter legwear option, then these are a fab piece to have on hand.
