Freya Lingerie : A Botanical Utopia
A new season is approaching; a time for new beginnings and wardrobe revival. While we’re still only in February and it isn’t quite the time to shed our winter woolies just yet, our lingerie drawers are ready for something a little more spring-like.
Right in the midst of back to back crazy weather storms (are you fed up with this wind and rain as I am?!) Freya’s latest lingerie drop kicks winter in its snowballs. Utopia is Freya’s bright and breezy answer to the botanical trend.
White lingerie can easily be mundane but combine the purity of this basic with a paint pot of colour and you have a fresh new look to modernise your wardrobe. Utopia’s floral print is an abundance of tulips and hibiscus entwined with fresh green foliage. Accented with delicate lace net and pretty bows, this new co-ordinating two piece is a super Spring set sure to brighten you up in time for the new season.
** Freya gifted me the Utopia balcony bra (30H) and brief (L) **
Utopia is available in a choice of three bra styles; balcony (D-K), longline (C-H) and half cup (B-H); and three bottoms in XS – XL; short, brief and brazilian. The balcony bra is based upon one of Freya’s much loved styles like that of last summer’s Parade. The highly supportive cups are rigid and sturdy but silky soft, and with the addition of a deep top lace panel, it’s a combination of reliability and femininity.
The wide band closes on three hooks, the straps are fully adjustable and there’s gentle side boning too, so there’s ample support and flexibility to ensure your best fit.
The 30H balcony bra is a fantastic fit on me and it’s been enjoyable to wear. It’s probably my favourite style of bra by Freya because the design is so good at providing a high level of support while still being able to carry off a fashionable look. I feel very confident wearing Utopia throughout the day because I know it’s not going to rub or dig, and it keeps me in place.
The print is a huge seller to me. I’m finding botany themes so appealing lately and Utopia pulls off the look so well. It looks really fresh and different, and I like that come the warmer months the straps will be flashing something right on trend.
The matching brief heavily features the botanical print, with side panels of the same lace that details the bra. It’s cut low on the tummy and hip for a simple but fitted feel.
The large seems to be a pretty good fit for my typically size 14 bum. They’re possibly a touch on the loose side, not massively so but I would try the medium for comparison. The brief feels soft to touch but still feels substantial, with the picot edging adding an extra pretty touch.

** PR gifted in return for honest, unbiased review **
The botanical theme is one of this year’s strong trends – how do you feel about it? Do like your florals ditsy and playful or realistic? After a miserable winter, are you ready for some Spring colours in your lingerie drawer?

I wish I and Freya get along…I have to try more bras after the Deco moulded fail…there are many prints that caught my eye in the newest collection…my favorite is strawberry fields! <3

February 22, 2016 at 12:20 amHi Nadia, yes I love Strawberry Fields too! So unusual for a spring design.
Maybe try a different style of Freya? If you don’t have much luck with Decos or balconettes, have you tried a half cup? They’re a shallower style and still very comfy and well fitting.

March 17, 2016 at 11:15 pmI don’t get well with shallower shapes either :/ I’ve heard Freya half cups run wide and shallow, and that’s the opposite I look for in a bra (my best fitting bras are Comexim plunges) :/
But their styles are tempting, specially their spring range, I might give them a try someday! Maybe a balconnet… hmmm

February 22, 2016 at 7:25 pmHi Shazia, Utopia’s not actually a bikini! It could easily be though! I’ll be reviewing swimwear shortly. 🙂
