Ultimo were once a lingerie brand exclusively for sub DD wearers, but not anymore. Last month they officially stepped into the large bust territory, launching their DD-G Fuller Bust range.

I’ve always seen Ultimo as being a sexy brand; lingerie for a special night out for when you want something sculpting and defining.  Uplifting bras feigning increased boob size and exaggerated cleavage.

Being a G+ wearer myself I know it isn’t every busty woman’s dream to minimise and hide what God gave her.  I like my boobs and aren’t adverse to showing my cleavage.  So I was keen to see Ultimo’s take on the desires of larger boobed girls and sample the leading essential.

A moulded plunge is pretty much your basic solution bra.  I was sent the Ultimo Fuller Bust plunge bra in a 32G.  It ticks all the right boxes regarding smooth, seam-free padded cups and it’s underwired and fashioned in a microfibre fabric that’s soft to the touch.

I do really like the feel of the bra and it’s quality construction.  Every inch feels silky soft, even the straps, and not least the band and fastener, which all adds to the luxe factor of this staple wardrobe essential.

Now, I did find the 32G was too large in the band for me and I experienced slight gaping to the apex of the cups, but unfortunately Ultimo only start from a 32 back.  The addition of 30 bands would be much appreciated!

The slender straps are probably the most visually unusual aspect of a larger cup bra, especially right up to a G cup.  Since straps do offer about 20% of the support of a bra, it’s natural to be wary of such narrowness.  Despite my band fit issue, I still found the straps to be pretty impressive, which is no mean feat in this instance.  Even though they look inadequate, these straps feel robust and stand up to the job.

Ultimo have done a good job maintaining their renowned aesthetic whilst meeting the demands of a full bust bra.  It’s supportive and still looks sexy, which is essentially what I imagine Ultimo set out to achieve.
