Large Cup Luxe Lingerie | Chantelle Superbe
Luxury lingerie easily enters our wish lists but too often prices us out of our budget. The old adage to buy the best you can afford stands true: superior quality is money well spent. And, for those of us whose everyday price range doesn’t make the luxury end of the market, there’s always those too rare occasions we’re allowed to treat ourselves to a guilty pleasure of beautiful, high end lingerie.
Chantelle has a rich heritage producing fine French lingerie dating back more than 130 years, and to this day are renowned for their quality and innovation. Whilst a brand not associated with the young and trendy, Chantelle raises the bar with timeless, beautifully cut Parisian collections.
Chantelle’s latest collection – Superbe – is an exciting addition to the fuller bust market. Sizes go up to a French H which is UK FF, but don’t switch off just yet if you think that sizes you out.
Superbe is available in three styles, and I was most thrilled to see a plunge as it’s a shape that best suits me, I adore, but don’t see so many of. It also comes in a choice of different colours including a gorgeous cranberry colour. The collection is a sumptuous stretch lace design with ever so soft lacing that looks as decadent as it feels.
Working out your size in Chantelle can be a little confusing so this is all you need to remember:
- The French sizing translates as two sizes bigger than a UK size eg: a French 30H is a UK 30FF
- You may need to size down a cup (especially in Superbe)
Since the collection runs up to a UK FF I based my size choice on what I typically wear in Gossard and Parfait, and that is a 30G. As it was suggested that Superbe runs a size bigger, I opted for a 30FF. I was also sent the shorty brief in a medium.
“Superbe fits like it’s tailor made”
Superbe fits like a glove – a glove fabricated in the finest lace! It feels luscious against my skin and fits seamlessly. I had my doubts about trying a 30FF when I wear Gs, GGs and sometimes an H, so I was incredibly impressed it actually fit.
The cups are adequately spaced without disappearing under my arms or cutting in; just perfectly fit. The black and purple colourway is a beautifully opulent choice, with the deep purple subtly showing through. A little grosgrain bow finishes off the central gore and trims the fully stretch slim straps. The honeycomb textured wings lend a particular softness, and 3 hooks wide band provides a good depth of support whilst still looking delicate.
This is one truly astounding bra – tastefully exotic, completely luxurious and a large bosom champion.

Have you tried Chantelle lingerie before?
What do you think about the Superbe?
Do you think there are enough luxury brands catering for the larger bust?

October 30, 2014 at 2:10 amGorgeous! How do you find it compares to the brand’s other styles for fit? I have the Rive Gauche (loose in band & quite shallow in cup) and the C-Chic Plunge (which runs small in both band & cup). I have both in a G; I went up a band size to fudge the fit as I normally wear a UK G cup.

November 12, 2014 at 1:18 amHi there, I’m afraid I can’t advise on other Chantelle styles as this is the first I’ve experienced. It’s interesting you find already a significant difference across collections, with some bands running large and others quite the opposite. I hope to explore the brand further so I hope I can help along the way!

October 30, 2014 at 5:18 pmThis looks amazing on you! I tried this bra in the Noisette/Pink color and it was so pretty but was huge on me. I usually wear between 28F/28FF or 30E/30F but in a 30F (UK 30E) it was HUGE on me so I sent it back. Maybe a 30E (UK 30DD) would have worked better.

November 12, 2014 at 1:16 amHi, yes I’d agree with you on the 30E if you found the 30F particularly big. Would you say it was too large in the cup or band, or just oversized all over? When I felt the 32F was too big it was just in the band, so going down in the band and back up in the cup to a 30FF was sufficient.

February 22, 2015 at 10:09 pmHi Florence, I know you posted your comment 4 months ago so I’m not sure that you’ll even get this. Just wanted to say that I too am a true 28F/30E and after reading your review about the 30F (UK 30E) being way too big I ordered this bra in a 30E (UK 30DD) and it fits perfectly! So, I do believe this bra runs one cup size big. After reading Becky’s review/seeing the photos I was convinced I had to have it in the black/violet color scheme and it is gorgeous. As Becky mentioned, the design, materials and fit are beautiful and it fits like a glove, providing such a great shape. I also love how the violet is such a deep plum color. I got it on a great sale plus had a $10 off coupon so I am feeling really good about this purchase. If you haven’t already done so (& especially if you can get it for a great price) I highly recommend re-ordering this bra in a 30E (UK 30DD). Now if only I could find the matching bottoms in an XS…

I really enjoyed reading your review (all true) and seeing the fit on you- WOW. I knew I had to have it. Such a great buy and especially love the deep plum/black combo. This bra definitely lives up to its name; it’s simply superb. Love Chantelle.
