Elle Macpherson Intimates | Fly Butterfly Fly
I was given the opportunity to try some new lingerie at House of Fraser recently and, a brand I was yet to experience, Elle Macpherson Intimates was a range high up on my agenda.
Covering most regular cup sizes from an A cup, there’s a lovely selection for the D-G group, with bands from 30-38. The designs are extremely feminine, with much lace and plenty pretty bows.
As a plunge lover the Fly Butterfly Fly contour bra caught my attention: a sumptuous satin number with a deep lace overlay trimming the padded cups. The previous season’s colour, a gorgeous blueberry purple shade, was available and I ordered it in a 32G.
The band is a decent width with a 3 hook fastener, but I found this size slightly looser than I’d choose to wear. The cups were generally okay and didn’t overspill but as the wires weren’t fully encasing my boobs, as a result it meant the central gore lifted away from my chest, creating a gap at the front.
If you like your straps on the thinner side this will be right up your street. I like a narrow strap, but they feel inadequate for the design of this bra. It would suit these straps if it were a balconette style, but being more of a plunge I think it would feel much comfier with slightly wider straps.
In respect of the way Elle Macpherson bras fit, I feel I would most likely need a 30GG if it were produced.
What I admire about the Elle Macpherson range of lingerie is the beautiful nature of the designs; very delicate and pretty with a particular attention to gorgeous fabrics. Now I’ve sampled the contour style I’m keen to further explore the brand and try a balcony collection next.
